Civita & Orvieto

On our bus ride to Florence, we made a couple fun stops. We made our first stop in the middle of the beautiful Tuscan countryside in a little town called Civita (said: Cha-vee-tah).
It is a little town with the current population of 9. It used to be a booming town, but it quickly became overcrowded, people moved to another town nearby and the town started to decay. Civita is up on a mountain with a large (and steep) road/bridge leading up to it. It is a cute, picturesque little town.

Exactly what you think of when you think of a cute little Italian town where no one speaks English. I was beautiful!

The second town we stopped at is called Orvieto.
My professor, James, and his family lived there on previous Study Abroads, so they knew the town pretty well. It was a beautiful little town, with a great climate (after all the rain we got in Rome, any sun was great!) and a great selection of shopping! It was a bad place for 30 girls to be for two hours... We went to the main cathedral there, which was amazing, but we couldn't take pictures in it, which is a bummer. But I took pictures of the outside, which was almost as beautiful :D
