Escalante!

I went to Escalante, Utah at the end of May! I went with a group of fellow Fine Arts Majors from BYU. We hiked down through Bryce Canyon, to Lower Calf Creek Waterfall, then through Peek-A-Boo and Spooky Slot Canyons, and drove across The Hog's Back.  Here are some of my pictures from the trip. Enjoy!

It was a whirl-wind of a trip and so much fun! There was 24 of us in all, which included the people from the following majors: Illustration, Graphic Design, Animation, Photography, Studio Art (Painting), and Art History (me). There was plenty of picture taking, and sketching going on. The hikes were fun, new friends were made and sun burns common enough! We attended church in Escalante on Sunday, and were welcomed with open arms by the wonderful ward there.

Everyone was happy to hear that there would be showers at the campground we set our tents up at, which resulted in a CLEAN camping trip! We also discovered the town's drive-up diner, Nemo's! We could be found there for either lunch or dinner almost every day of the trip!

We went down with grant money from a program called Building Bridges and have been invited to return in September to show our art (from the trip) in an exhibit during the Escalante Fine Arts Festival! We love that Red Rock, and can't wait to go back!
